I visited Andong, South Korea during the first week of February 2020. My boyfriend and I needed a break to get away from work, but we were itching for something a bit far from comfort. As a scholar of Korean history, I wanted to head somewhere I could learn. Having been to ancient cities like Jeonju and Gyeongju already, I stuck with something completely new: Andong. To make a long story short: I fell in love with the city and its people. Even better, I felt like the city fell in love with me as the cold winter breeze parted for a few days and made room for the sun.
