Cachi Flower Café, Seoul | 까치화방, 서울

There are a handful of cafes in and around Seoul that offer one-of-a-kind drink options and decor. As a chain, Cachi Flower Café offers unlimited elegance no matter which shop you visit. And while we normally emphasize the local rather than the well-known at Pinpoint Korea, this franchise is worth putting on your radar for a romantic afternoon getaway.

Cachi Flower Café has various branches around Seoul, each with its own charm, but the two top suggestions we want to share with you are in the neighborhoods of Seongsu and Jongno. These are particularly special for what the rest of the neighborhood or location has to offer, rather than simply the café itself. Let’s take a closer look at what makes them stand out.

Seongsu Branch (Featured)

The Seongsu Branch opens itself up to a jaw-dropping entrance as guests are ushered to the counter by a line of towering Korean pine trees. Tall images of magpies, the bird the cafe is named after, decorate the space with a limited number of tables and chairs. It’s certainly cozy, to say the least, so we suggest coming here at an off-peak time of the day.

The cake is self-service, but you can also leave with one of their homemade jams or stunning bouquets, as a small vendor is located just across from the counter.

The Seongsu branch is not only visually stunning but offers a specific amount of seating that never makes the café feel too overwhelming. It’s the perfect place to stop by on a date or with friends and family for intimate conversation. In here, you’ll never feel like pulling out your phone (except for photos).

The neighborhood is also newly renovated with much to see. Visitors can cross the courtyard to find the IKEA LAB, where you can schedule an appointment with expert design specialists or purchase some of the Swedish company’s hottest home accessories. There’s a small cafe there too – whipping up the Swedish meatballs we all know and love.

Jongno Branch

Although images from the Jogno branch aren’t featured in this post, it was actually the first Cachi Flower Café that I visited. The Jongno Branch is located in the heart of Seoul on the ground floor of the aptly named Jongno Tower. It’s a hot-spot for business people during their break, so aim to get here in the morning or just after lunch.

This particular branch stands out because of its attached nail salon, Witch’s Garden. Everything else is the same, including the drink and cake options, as well as the flower bouquets that the café is so famous for. If you’re in the mood for some pampering, book your pedi/mani appointment through this number: 02-730-9040.

Best Menu

Although everything is a winner, the raspberry and lemon pound cakes are a must for those inclined to fruitier options. The Cachi Milk Tea and signature Cachi Coffee (we suggest iced) are not only stunning in their appearance but their flavor as well. They are featured in the first photograph of this article!

Prices range from around 6,000-8,000 won for a drink and 7,000 won for a cake.
