Atmosphere
Cafe 148 is a spacious, beach-y paradise located in the Jeju countryside. The towering ceiling of this single-room cafe features surf boards, macrame and other vintage features. The open kitchen and great music selection makes for an enjoyable family, date or friend date. Visitors can sit on the elevated chairs next to the towering windows to enjoy the view of an adjacent fruit farm. We were lucky to visit here on a rainy morning and enjoy our drinks beside a tropical thunderstorm.
One of the best features of this cafe is its outdoor seating area. Visitors can rest on wooden decks beneath a flowering white canopy, which lights up at night under chunky fairy-lights. Take a stroll through the fruit bushes on their overgrown pathway – a perfect spot for a romantic photoshoot.
Menu
Everything on the menu at Cafe 148 is delectable, but a few things stand out among the rest. If you’re looking for a great non-coffee option, try their Jeju Hallabong Ade (featured photo). For those with a sweet tooth, the Plum Ade is also a definite win. Be sure to come hungry – the Snoopy Waffle is not only adorable but a filling brunch to get the day started right. In the mood for a post-lunch dessert? Their chocolate mousse cake pairs wonderfully with their coffee selection.
Prices are reasonable with their coffee menu ranging between 4,000 – 6,500 won. Ade drinks average 7,000 won, while yogurt desserts are 8,000 won. The Snoopy Waffle will cost you 14,000 won while the cakes average 6,000 won. The sizes are very reasonable and you will certainly get your money’s worth at Cafe 148.
